Scotch & Murder favorite Keep Shelly in Athens remixes Reptile Youth's "Black Swan Born White". The title seems to indicate that their is a sinister presence lurking---that innocence is only the careful hiding of guilt: black swan turned white. There are few acts more adept at channeling this grey area between the crystalline and the gothic, Eden and error than Keep Shelly in Athens. On "Black Swan Born White" she gives us a dreamscape fuzz as a dominant instrumental, while at times holding one lone, near nightmarish chord out, bringing it to the forefront, and stretching it to its very limit. It is a question of what limit you want to test.
