We just discovered Le Matos, the trio from Montreal that may have produced some of the hardest, tasteful tracks to be released on an LP in a while. Coming Soon is filled with dark 80's electro that will leave you dumbfounded and wanting more. This is not your ordinary "hey let's take some 80's jingles and rewrite them to a harder, faster beat." These guys are seriously musically talented. From Retired opening to Sister closing this awesome collaboration, you will not be disappointed with one song.

The Bloody Beetroots feat. Dennis Lyxzén - Church of Noise (Video)
Under the guise of Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo The Bloody Beetroots continue to evolve and in turn to blow our minds. Their latest work, Church of Noise, seems to be the bands anthem, if not its mantra. The track urges us to band together and revolt. Against what we are not particularly sure, but who gives a fuck the track rocks. We're gonna go out on a limb and christen this bad boy the anthem for 2011, and why the hell not 2012. It Only takes five fingers to form a fist. Rock On.
Radiohead - Codex (Deadmau5 cover)
Apparently Deadmau5 is able to take on all forms of music, electronic or otherwise. This time Mr. Mau5 takes on the art of The Cover. That is performing the music of another band. The Mau5 jumps right in covering none other than the world-class elite band of musicians that is Radiohead. An interesting paring that is sure to grab the eyes of both the new and old school. No vocals on the cover, but Deadmau5 certainly captures the emotions of a very emotional song. Drink it in.
Radiohead - Codex (deadmau5 cover) by fuckmylife
Urban Cone - Freak (Video)
Urban Cone celebrates its first single release with a video for that single, Freak. A smashing video at that (directed by Niclas Larsson and Olof Lindh + D.O.P credits to Erik Nordlund). The Stockholm natives give off a certain European indie vibe, if that makes any sense. The quintet sends a reminder that perhaps we're all freaks, and perhaps there is nothing wrong with that. Pick up Urban Cone's debut single Freak. We dig it. Can you dig it?

Over the weekend we had the privilege of locking ourselves in the studio with Leger De Main, the Italian representative of the Scotch and Murder DJs. After hours of painstaking music listening and mixing we proudly present the second installment of the Scotch and Murder Mixtapes, ¿Already?. This one is full of deep dark bangers that you are sure to enjoy. So sit back grab some popcorn and let your ears muse over Leger’s roller coaster of a masterpiece.

We Have Band - Still Life (The Horrors Cover)
We Have Band jumps in with a nice little cover of The Horrors' Still Life. Definitely a new sound to the track. Opposed to front-man Faris Badwan's booming vocals we get a medley of soft vocals played over organ keys and a series of intermittent synthetic sounds. We also decided to include the video of The Horrors' recent cover of David Bowie's Sufferagette City. Covers all around.
We Have Band - Still Life (The Horrors Cover) by We Have Band
The Ting Tings - Silence (Bag Raiders Remix)
Great to see some new remix work from Bag Raiders. Their latest re-work is a little splice up The Ting Tings' Silence. A bit of a progressive vibe coming from this one. The track features front-women Katie White's soft vocals layered over some synth and interesting percussion. The original version Silence of silence will be released on The Ting Tings' sophomore effort Kunst. Scoop it out.
Ford & Lopatin + Shannon Funchness + Tamaryn - Snakes / Flying Dream
Mexican Summer reaches the 100 mark. Their 100ths release that is. The indie label will be releasing a split single featuring Ford & Lopatin collaborating with fellow Scotch and Murder favorites Light Asylum's Shannon Funchess and Tamaryn. You can grab a sneak peak to the split below with a stream of both tracks, Snakes (Funchess) and Flying Dream (Tamaryn).

Holy Ghost! - I Wanted to Tell Her (feat. Nancy Whang & Juan Maclean)
With a little love from Nancy Whang, of LCD Soundsystem fame, and Juan MacLean, Holy Ghost! covers Ministry's 80 classic ballad, I Wanted To Tell Her. The group of synth-heads get together and kill the track creating a fantastic 80s dance-vibe. In the alternative, this bad boy could probably play in any post-modern love story montage involving dark sunglasses and white blouses. So yeh blast this track for a minuet.
Friendly Fires - Hurting (Video) + (Tensnake Remix)
The Friendly Fires release this little music video for their latest single Hurting. We love these guys, they just give off such great energy. If you've seen them live you understand where we're coming from (plus you'll love front man Ed Macfarlane's signature dance moves (and Hawaiian prints)). We also left you the Tensnake remix of the track we've been jamming out to for a hot minuet. Your touch keeps on hurting.
Friendly Fires - Hurting Tensnake Remix
Summer Camp - You Might Get Stuck on Me (Video)
The new song by Summer Camp has its own video. That song of course is You Might Get Stuck on Me. A track warning those at the budding stages of love of just that, love. The duo keeps impressing us with Jeremy Warmsley's excellent production perfectly paired to the picturesque vocals of Elizabeth Sankey. Be careful, you might get stuck on them. A quick special thanks to 17 Cosmetics for recognizing special talent that deserves support. Dont forget to pickup Summer Camp's debut album Welcome to Condale, out now.
A Place To Bury Strangers - So Far Away
At long last, the NYC loud ass shoegazers will be releasing their next EP, Onwards to the Wall, in February of 2012. A Place to Bury Strangers gave us Exploding Heads in 2009, a true hard rock album with singer/guitarist Oliver Ackermann leveraging his pedal creations in full force, destroying your ears with tracks like Deadbeat or In Your Heart. Here is a little taste of what's to come.

Electric Youth - Right Back To You (EP)
Itching for a new favorite post-80s 80's band? Check out Electric Youth. We first fell in love with the Canadian duo on their collaboration with College for the title track, A Real Hero, off the Drive Soundtrack (which needs be listened to). Electric Youth follows that successful effort with Right Back To You, a nine track EP featuring remixes by DVAS and Sarah Sarah. Our personal favorite ironically enough is the EP's B-side, Fade Away, but the whole EP is smoking. Pick up the entire Right Back To You EP from iTunes. Dig this sound.

The Drums Live At Bowery Ballroom (Video)
We wanted to take a minute and share some videos we got of The Drums performance at Bowery Ballroom this past Monday. Check out the videos for Money and Down By The Water below. Overall, a pretty impressive performance from a band that keeps on growing us no matter how much we already enjoy their sound. It was quite the sight to see a sold out crowd of urban New Yorkers dancing they're hearts out to some beached out rock. Totally conflicting worlds perfectly jiving with one another. Stellar.
FOE - Cold Hard Rock
FOE shares a little sneak peak of things to expect from their upcoming album, Bad Dream Hotline. Cold Hard Rock is dark and twisted in a way that only FOE can be. We noticed a "bigger" sound coming from the band than we are used, but the track still rocks, particularly Hannah Louise Clark's superbly crisp vocals. We love the track and cant wait for Bad Dream Hotline to drop worldwide on 01. 16. 2012.
120 Days - Osaka (diskJokke Remix)
A quick little ballad for you. Oslo based diskJokke takes you on a epic journey in his re-work of fellow Norwegians 120 Days' Osaka. The track is part of Modular's Club Mod program, a series in which the label will be releasing exclusive and select dance tracks monthly in an effort to get you to shake that ass. The first installment does not disappoint with some perfectly played keys over a hot bed of lovely deep synth. Free download in the player, plus we left you the super tripped out video for Osaka's original mix (equally as fantastic). You can purchase the entire 120 days Club Mod Release directly from Modular. Listen to those keys.

Tycho - Dive
The San Francisco based blogger and designer Scott Hansen, aka Tycho, will be releasing his first full length album Dive via Ghostly International on November 16. Recently the radio version of the single Dive hit airwaves. No surprise here Scott has maintained his ambient electro pop sound and we are excited to get our hands on this piece of work. Go to Spin to preview the album first.

GLASS CANDY - WARM IN THE WINTER (Video)
Just in case you missed Glass Candy's video for Warm in the Winter. Love this deep synth grind house of track all brought together with the musings of vocalist Ida No. Love is in the air.
Twin Sister - Kimmi in a Rice Field (Balam Acab Remix)
Balam Acab gets his hands on of Twin Sister's Kimmi in a Rice Field. The combination of Mr. Acab's majestic sounds and Twin Sister front women Andrea Estella is quite stellar and perfectly chill. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind our fellow New Yorks and Brooklynites to check out Balam Acab next week, November 17th, at Le Poisson Rouge (tickets for $13 bucks). Grab it.

Keep pumping em out Com.

The Drums - How It Ended (Jeremy Summer Camp Remix)
The latest Drums' single, How It Ended, gets a little remix by Summer Camp. As we anticipate the release of Welcome to Condale, Jeremy Warmsley and Elizabeth Sankey, collectively Summer Camp, have outdone themselves on this re-work. The XX - Night Time (Synkro Remix)
All remixes of The XX have been consistently great. The most recent one to surface by the Manchester producer Synkro has a bit of a house edge and definitely that Northwest UK ambient sound. The original Night Time is a moving piece by itself. Throwing some electronic drums over the track, yet maintaining The XX's reverb guitar and Romy's soft and smooth vocals, Synkro delivers a a solid piece of work.

Grimes - Oblivion
Instantly loved the girl wonder that is Grimes' new track Oblivion, off the highly anticipated Visions LP (due out January 31, 2012 on ARBUTUS). Just some perfectly played synths on the track with crisp soft vocals, not much more to say. Emphasis on the perfect synths.
