Similar to the high-hat hitting, cymbal smashing, and bass line driving tunes of the Bloody Beetroots, Jan Driver delivers his contemporary electro with raw and fierce articulation. Driver has been somewhat of a German electronic scene icon since the 90s, contributing and evolving till this day. His hit "Tellyfoam" from WMC 2010 definitely helped distinguish himself as a super talented DJ and with the release of the LP Amatilda on Boysnoize Records, he will be sure to drop jaws again.

Just got our hands on a digital copy of one of the two bonus tracks off Blak Nite's Versionen LP. Mr. Nite's remix of Civillain's Hostile Per Se, is plenty deep and dark if you dig that sound (as we do). Pick up a copy of the vinyl Verisonen LP for the utmost in listening pleasure (as we did), and you'll get both bonus tracks for frizzle.

Best Coast - Our Deal (Video)
Love and street gangs never mix. Just in case you missed the star studded new video for Best Coast's Our Deal. Oh yeh, it was directed by Drew Barrymore.
Crizzly - Lifted (Original Mix + Video)
Crizzly has crafted quite the banger for his weekly Wednesday roof top rager in good ol' San Antonio, Texas. Lifted combines Crizzly's notable deep base and grinding/blaring synth sounds with some prime Method Man vocals. The result, a masterpiece. Grab it while its hot (and free).
The War on Drugs - Come to the City
Urban Outfitters just recently produced a video for the single "Come to the City" by the Bob Dylan fanatics The War on Drugs. Peter J. Brant directs this stylish montage of L.A. girls hanging around with erratic crayon art flashing back and forth. Conducive to the melody and beat of the track. You can find the new single on The War on Drug's new album Slave Ambient.
M83 - Midnight City (Christian Strobe Remix)
Christian Strobe adds a layer of dark grinding synth to M83's Midnight City. When it comes to M83, we tend to prefer the original than to its remixes. While that holds true here as well, notably because we are such big fans of the original, Mr. Strobe's efforts do not go unnoticed and will definitely have you busting a move.
Toro y Moi - How I Know (Video)
Toro Y Moi makes us laughably rethink death in the video for How I Know. Ghosts, good music, endless bubble gum, and dancing, suddenly the whole dying thing doesn't seem so bad. (Directed by Jordan Kim).
Boerd - Frigg OFF
We're always excited for any news from Comorbid Records, the relatively new Swedish label with signed artists Boerd and Owl Vision. Boerd's Frigg Off EP will be released online on August 30th for all of us to digest and rock out. For now, enjoy the teaser trailer!
Jan Driver - AMT
Similar to the high-hat hitting, cymbal smashing, and bass line driving tunes of the Bloody Beetroots, Jan Driver delivers his contemporary electro with raw and fierce articulation. Driver has been somewhat of a German electronic scene icon since the 90s, contributing and evolving till this day. His hit "Tellyfoam" from WMC 2010 definitely helped distinguish himself as a super talented DJ and with the release of the LP Amatilda on Boysnoize Records, he will be sure to drop jaws again.

Worship - Odyssey
Just after releasing his latest EP, Out There (On the Fruit), Worship already drops a new track, Odyssey. A space trek of its own, this own will take through the clouds and to the star, hence the name. All that, and its free. Worship yourself. Grab it while you can.

Darren Hayes - Talk Talk Talk (Penguin Prison Remix Instrumental)
Darren Hayes dropped his Talk Talk Talk EP this weekend. While the EP is all fine and dandy, what really grabbed our ears was Penguin Prisons instrumental take on the song. We have a bit of an obsession with music that has a proper 80s feel to it. That translates to the sound that should be coming out of your white corvette as you race it down the side of a mountain where your post-modern home sits, with a white cashmere scarf and perfectly quaffed hair blow in the wind. So yeh, this song should be playing if that every happens during your life (quaff or sans-quaff).

Sternrekorder - The Place To Be
German native Sternrekorder stops in with The Place To Be. A perfect display of that happy medium of grinding electronic sounds and pleasant synth waves. Just a little something fly to listen to while your mind wonders for a bit. Check it out.

Warm Ghost - G.T.W.S.
Paul Duncan and Oliver Chapoy of Brooklyn based Warm Ghost describe Narrows, their next LP to be released with Partison on Sepetember 27, in the following:
I made one note to myself before we started this LP. It just said ‘automatic writing’. Words get in the way of music sometimes, and I really wanted it all to feel organic, but with architecture and depth.
It’s all about making our music more challenging to the ear. There is so much happening throughout the songs, little sound bursts, hypnotic rhythms that help maintain the balance between an electronic pop album and an experimental one.
One thing is for sure is that these guys are quite the avant-garde pop team. Perfectly portrayed in the first single "G.T.W.S."
Warm Ghost - G.T.W.S.
Kakkmaddafakka - Restless (Video)
Ever wonder what high-school gym class would be like today? Thanks to SOFILMS and Kakkmaddafakka your wondering can come to an end. Restless, has us thinking that some European producers (and music listeners) have been digging The Drums. A playful track, with an even friskier video. Bon appetit.
Flight Facilities - Foreign Language (Video)
Flight Facilities actually dropped in with Foreign Language just before the weekend, but we stepped out of the office before getting a chance to post it. We've been jamming to this one all weekend. The anonymous DJ duo continues to capitalize on pairing their talents with the most perfect of vocals. A very sexy disco track, grab it on iTunes.

Moguai Remix Invasion
All eyes are on Moguai. With the release of WE ARE LYVE off of mau5trap, which by the way is the first non Deadmau5 album, this German sensation established himself as THE new DJ to watch out for this year. If you are unable to attend any of his performances these next couple of months, definitely peruse through the remixes he has been unleashing, starting with his most recent of Underworld's "Diamong Jigsaw".
Gauntlet Hair - Top Bunk
Denver's Gauntlet Hair jumps back in the scene with Top Bunk, the first single from their upcoming self titled full length debut album (out this October 18th on Dead Oceans). The track meets its description to a tee, a cooled-out, costal slow-grind." The perfect track for those endless beach days you'll be having for the rest of this scorcher of a summer. Spot on.

This sounds awesome.

This time around the duo returns to their roots, delivering serious house/electronic tracks marking the return of early 90's warehouse music. Kudos to all of you who made the trek to Ibiza's Space Terrace to check out some of the new material off the EP.
Washed Out - Before (Video)

Yeh, that could work.
Dig it.
Calvin Harris at LAVO New York 7/28
Scotland's Calvin Harris has established him self as one the elite electro-pop producers out. So you thought the LCD Soundsystem retired? Well you were wrong.
Thanks to Michael J. Green, they just turned into legos.
Simply. Fantastic.
Sun Glitters (feat. Niva & Charlee) - Eventide (Video)
Sun Glitters' Eventide is the perfect song for that foggy dream you keep having.
Holy Other - Know Where (Video)
We were pretty devastated when we heard of Holy Other's unfortunate turn in health, and wish him all the best. We hope the release of a new video is a sign for the better. A thoroughly bad ass video for Know Where, that is. One of our favorite tracks off one of our favorite releases this year, With U.
Neon Indian - Fallout
Fall Out is the latest track released from Era Extraña, the highly anticipated Neon Indian album due out September 13th. Alan Palomo gets back to his darker sound on the track, something refreshing from our point of view. After a sweating out a bunch of teasers its nice to get a full track from the synth wizard. Totally dig this track. Enter you e-mail in the player to get the free mp3.

All The Lights - Chasing Colours (Plastic Plates Remix)
Plastic Plates (Felix Bloxsom) is a name to write down. Right now. The Aussie native, currently residing in the mean streets of Los Angeles, has his sound down pat. It is tight. Like a tiger. Yes, that tight. A flavorful deep disco sound that has us simply mesmerized. For our fellow New Yorkers, Plastic Plates will be playing at The W on August 4th and at Le Bain on August 5th, see you there. We left you his latest remix, but check out Mr. Plates entire SoundCloud list to get on the level. Trust us you want to be on the level. Do it.

18 Carat Affair - Vintage Romance EP
Denys Parker, aka 18 Carat Affair, hails from our Great Plains, a somewhat remote and distant place. Even so, this man is still able to produce that 80s vintage sound to perfection, creating slow and slick R&B inspired tracks throughout his entire record, Vintage Romance (released today). Parker joins the likes of Com Truise and Ford & Lopatin (both very hight on our list of favorites) in showing homage to an era of shit sweaters and white Corvettes. Ironically, the music was awesome.

Innerpartysystem - Not Getting Any Better (The Maniac Agenda Remix)
Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Innerpartysystem recently held a remix contest, the winners of which have just been announced. Out of roughly 300 total submissions the IPS selected the remix done Manic Agenda as their winner. The track is pretty ferocious, as the band's names would suggest, and is definitely a kick in the pants. As the winner, Maniac Agenda will have the track to released on Red Bull Records. Innerpartysystem also selected a hand-full of runner-ups/honorable mentions that you can check out on the IPS facebook page.

Bjork's "Crystalline" Video
The apple does not fall far from the tree when referring to the creative aspect of Bjork's short films. Here is the new video for "Crystalline", the single off of the September 27 release of Biophilia.
André Obin - Lemondrop
André Obin, the Boston native, releases his new single "Lemondrop", an eerie and elegant continuation from previous tracks such as "The Arsonist" and "Soft Rain". Might as well have Teen Daze and 18 Carat Affair remix the track, both offering a dreamy rendition of the original.

The Horrors - Moving Further Away
Let us not forget about the rock groups out there that keep true to their inspiration. In this case we're referring to The Horrors 80's Brit pop rock/shoegaze sound. Thank god for the bands out there still producing quality, non-preset driven, instrumental tracks. With the release of Skying, the follow up to 2009's Primary Colours, this British sensation gives you "Moving Further Away".

The New Division - Opium
Post-rock synth maestros, The New Division, hit us with their latest single, Opium. The first song released off their upcoming debut album Shadows (Division 87 Records), due out September 27. The track maintains The New Division recent string of exquisite releases. Opium, keeps in line with that deep, dark, 80s sound the band strives for. So, yes you may think your listening to Joy Division for a hot minuet. The single also includes two remixes. This just comes in handy for a bad day.
Pick up the Opium Single directly from The New Division on their bandcamp page.

Tropics - Mouves (Keep Shelly in Athens Remix) + (Video)
Keep Shelly in Athens drops in with a remix to UK outfit Tropics' latest single Mouves. KSA definitely adds a darker ambient theme to the track, slowing it down and grinding it out quite a bit. We love both versions, so we left you the official video for Mouves, as well as the free download of the Keep Shelly in Athens Remix. Grab it.
