Washed Out - Eyes Be Closed

New track, 'Eyes Closed' off Washed Out's upcoming full-length debut Within and Without , which will be released July 12 on the Weird World / Domino (on Sub Pop in the U.S.)

Washed Out - Eyes Be Closed

Kenton Slash Demon

Hailing from Copenhagen (WE LOVE YOU DENMARK), Kenton Slash Demon is putting in some serious work to bring you that new sound you've been searching for. As KSD puts it, their sound is both organic and futuristic, which is a dead on assessment. On their latest track 'Daemon' you can hear (if not feel) the pure plucks of  a classical double bass, yet you could easily be tripping in Space to the track. Stardom seems more like a matter of time than anything else for this duo. Give the tracks a listen, and you'll be just as hooked, trust us.

Fedde Le Grand - Amplifier vs. Walking On A Dream (Goodwill Bootleg)

Mr. Le Grand got his hands on these two tracks and made magic. Not much more to see here, just an awesome song, you could even say its an INSTANT BANGER.

Steve Aoki & Laidback Luke ft. Lil Jon - Turbulence Remixes

To celebrate their new album release here are some new remixes of the Steve Aoki and Laidback Luke track 'Turbulence' from Sidney Sampson and Tocadisco. Although we're still big fans of the original, these should keep your head banging for quite some time (Mixmash Records).

Stars - Changes (Video)

You may feel that 'Changes' deviates from what we usually bring you here at Scotch and Murder. However, we were simply to impressed with the Star's new video to not help spread the good word. Thought provoking, innovative, mesmerizing, East London director Jaron Albertin has out done himself. Whether we know it or not, we all need our angles.

GOOSE - Synrise (Mumbai Science Remix)

Quite the remix of GOOSE's Synrice by Mumbai Science. Super ravey, the track is full of peaks and valleys that will have you asking yourself if your listening to the same song. Love the duo's tag line, a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, -- science does not know its debt to imagination.  Awesome work, an instant BANGER.

GOOSE - Synrise (Mumbai Science Remix)

AXXE - Sweet Stuff (Stay Ali Remix)

A fresh remix of AXXE by Stockholm's own Stay Ali. Dont let  the quick intro fool you, this is a very chill track that will have you melting like butter. The base line in this one is simply dreamy. Certified Freshnessss.

BLACKBIRD BLACKBIRD - Falling in Love

This is not a love song. With a name like 'Falling in Love' you would expect the song to be about, well, falling in love, well BLACKBIRD BLACKBIRD got us on this one. Instead the song sounds like some one is ripping out your heart strings, which is a good thing, trust us. It has the perfect mix of booming 80s vocals and that dark grinding synth we've come to love. So much for falling in love.

BLACKBIRD BLACKBIRD - Falling in Love

Oddity - Twised (Video)

A new video from Tokyo's Oddity for his latest single, Twisted. The video was shot in Japan by Itsuki Maeshiro. We think you'd agree it has that certain futuristic feel to it, no?

UPDATE: DollFace Devereaux - Battle (Demo)

UPDATE: We loved this track so much we sent DollFace Devereaux an e-mail to see where we could pick it up.  But Dollface was too kind,  and instead forward us an exclusive Mp3 of his Battle demo. Download the exclusive Scotch and Murder Mp3 here. Well be getting the mastered version soon as well (= double exclusive = bad ass), so keep your eyes (or ears) open.
-----------
Anyone know how to say 'instant BANGER' in Czech? A brilliant demo from Czech native DollFace Devereaux, who apparently is quite the party animal in his mother country. Those dark frenzied beats get us every time. Yeh, blast this at your parties this weekend.

Holy Ghost! – Wait & See (Video)

Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser’s simple, catchy “Wait & See” comes from the NYC duo’s self-titled DFA full-length. The Ben Fries-directed video for the track features their fathers playing Holy Ghost!. As Frankel explains:
"For a long time Nick and I joked that our dads should take our press photos. At some point our go-to director, Ben Fries, came up with the idea of actually making a video with them playing us and “Wait and See” seemed like the perfect song to do it for. At first both Dads were a little apprehensive — and rightfully so: My dad was appalled at the sizing options at American Apparel. But when we explained that the joke wasn’t on them — that it was actually kind of making fun of us getting older and still living like teenagers — they were game. For the record, they agree: We need to grow up.

MUNK – Rue De Rome (Video)

MUNK released a stellar new video for his latest single. ‘Rue de Rome’ is a 70s street funk house track, with sordid French vocals and a dense bass guitar line give the track a ‘soul’ like sound. Download 'Rue De Rome'

The Joy Formidable - Whirring (Innerpartysystem Remix)

"Whirring," one of our favorite tracks from The Joy Formidable's, debut album The Big Roar, has been remixed by Innerpartysystem, who wasnt scared to show off his talents on this track.  Truthfully, this a perfect mix of the soothing vocals of  Ritzy Bryan and  blaring electronic beats. Innerpartysystem builds the beat perfectly then leaves you in a free fall of wave grinding synth. This might have just become the new office favorite (at least for a hot minuet).

Felix Cartal & Keatch – Solar

We've been waiting for this one for a while, and it was worth the wait. Bootleg copies have been strewn across the interwebs for some time, but they werent really listenable. Nevertheless, Felix Cartal & Keatch‘s Solar Lunar compilation has now been released and it doesn't disappoint.  Grab it on Beatport now.

Joy Division Early Live Performance in Suburban Pub (Video)

Earlier today we posted the new autoKratz video featuring Peter Hook, and it got us thinking of Joy Division, one of our personal favorites here at Scotch and Murder. That led us to stumble on this early performance by the band  in a random pub in Altrincham, a suburb of Manchester. The video is shot on a super 8, which truly captures the essence of the band and the time period it self. The set features She's Lost Control, Shadowplay, and Leaders Of Men. Oh what it would have meant to have been there.

Ford & Lopatin – Emergency Room (Gavin Russom remix)

A new extended re-work of Ford & Lopatin’s “Emergency Room” by DFA synth master Gavin Russom. Featured alongside a dub mix by the Bug on Ford and Lopatin’s Emergency Room “x-ray picture disc” 12″ (above). Limited one-time pressing of 1200 copies, out now on Mexican Summer

Aeorplane - My Enemy

Aeroplane has released, My Enemy,  its latest single off  his ‘We Can’t Fly’ album. A very fine track that combines sensual violin strings, electronic beats, and a kick ass guitar solo. A modern day electronic symphony with Aeorplane as its conductor, if you will.

Chad Valley - Fast Challenges

After a his highly successful first EP, Chad Valley is set to release a new album, Equatorial Ultravox, on Cascine Records.  The album is expected to be released in late June. 'Fast Challenges'  is a early taste off the album, and it tastes good.

Junior Boys - Banana Ripple

It's All True, the new album from the Canadian synthpop duo Junior Boys, is due out June 14 , via Domino. 'Banana Ripple', is  the nine-minute, album-closing emotional roller-coaster of a track they are using to amp us up for its release. Before the album drops, the group will release "Banana Ripple" as a 12" single on May 30,  with remixes by the Field and Tom Moulton.

AutoKratz - Becoming The Wraith (Video)

AutoKratz revealed a video for their second single from their new album ‘Self Help For Beginners’, the new track is called ‘Becoming The Wraith,’ and it features Manchester legend Peter Hook on the bass.

Selebrities – Can’t Make Up My Mind (Video)

Their Selebrities, not Celebrities. Set to release an album (Cascine) some time this spring, the 80s rockers grace us with a video for their soon to be new single 'Can't make up My Mind'. Selebrities truly captures that 80s sound, perhaps better than anyone else out right now. In fact, the video has us second guessing which decade it we are in right now (maybe its just wishful thinking).  Download the track here.

Lollapalooza 2011 Line Up

The 2011 Lollapalooza line up was just released, and its a doozy. We were expecting some notables, as it is the festivals 20th anniversary, but who ever booked this son of a bitch has outdone themselves. The biggest surprise for us is Deadmau5 since we didnt think we would see him state side after Ultra. See you at Palooza.
